Congratulations to the top three finishers at the 2021 MD B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak State Championship at Rocky Gorge Reservoir

Alex Fiolka finished in 1st place with 75.5 inches. Geoff Tressler finished in 2nd place with 64 inches. Matt Campbell finished in 3rd place with 58 inches. Matt also had big bass for the tournament with a 21 inch Largemouth.

Fishing that morning started out slow with very few fish being caught. By late morning the leader had 30+ inches. Around noon, Alex Fiolka uploaded a limit of fish and he took a commanding lead with 65 inches, 30+ inches over second place.  Late afternoon saw the biggest fish for the tournament posted when Matt Campbell uploaded a 21 inch Largemouth, which took big bass for the tournament, and moved him into second place with 58 inches.  Alex was also able to increase his lead by culling two bass and extended his overall length to 75.5 inches.  With 30 minutes left in the tournament Geoff Tressler made a move to a different area and added two more largemouth which surged him into second place with 64 inches but wasn’t able to put a fifth fish on the board to take the lead by the end of the tournament.

Congratulations to Alex Fiolka for qualifying for the 2022 HUK B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Championship in early March, in conjunction with the 2022 B.A.S.S Master Classic. We’re sure that Alex will represent us well at the Championship.
